About JK Club

​

The JK Club was established in 2003 and has been running for over 20 years. We are Ofsted registered and provide care for children aged 4–11 years.

​

We welcome all children and will always do our utmost to make reasonable adaptations to ensure we meet the needs of every child in our care.

​

At JK Club we aim to provide a “home from home” environment, where children feel relaxed, happy and safe. We pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming setting where children can play, build friendships and develop confidence.

​

We are fortunate to have our own dedicated JK Club building located within the beautiful grounds of The Russell School. We have our own secure enclosed garden, as well as access to the school playgrounds and the school field, giving the children plenty of space to play and enjoy outdoor activities.

The Team

Jo, the owner and manager, opened JK Club in 2003 at our original site in Stag Lane, before moving to our current location at The Russell School in 2014. 

​

Jo holds an HND in Early Years and had worked in out-of-school childcare for two years before establishing JK Club.

​

Our Deputy Managers and Playworkers have worked alongside Jo for many years and have become a close-knit team who feel like family.

​

All staff are:

• DBS checked

• Trained in Safeguarding

• Trained in Food Hygiene

• Provided with ongoing training

 

Most staff are: 

• Qualified in childcare

• Trained in First Aid

​

This ensures children are cared for in a safe, supportive and professional environment.

​

We had our Ofsted inspection in 2022. The grading system for out-of-school clubs was changed, meaning settings now receive either “Met” or “Not Met.” We were pleased to receive “Met”, and the inspector also commented that we demonstrated outstanding qualities.

Breakfast Club

​

The JK Club offers a Breakfast Club service for children attending The Russell School only.

​

Breakfast Club opens at 7:30am, and we take the children safely to their classrooms at 8:45am ready for the start of the school day.

We provide a range of breakfast options including:

• Cereals

• Toast with a variety of toppings

• Pastries

• Yoghurts

• Fresh fruit

Drinks available include:

• Apple juice

• Orange juice

• Milk

• Water

• ​

After breakfast the children enjoy free play, giving them a calm and relaxed start to their school day.

Afterschool Club

​

Our Afterschool Club is available for children attending The Russell School only.

We offer two collection sessions:

​

• 5:15pm collection

• 6:15pm collection

​

Children are collected directly from their classrooms or onsite afterschool activities, Once back at the club, the children can enjoy free play and adult-led activities. Children are offered an afternoon snack, which may include:

• Sandwiches

• Toast

• Crackers with a range of toppings

Each day we also offer an additional hot or filling option, such as:

• Pizza

• Pasta

• Beans or hoops on toast

• Wraps

• Toasties

Children are also offered a pudding, which alternates between a treat or fruit.

​

Drinks available include sugar-free squash and water.

​

Holiday Club

Our Holiday Club runs during most school holidays from 8:00am to 6:00pm, with a range of flexible session times available throughout the day, and accept children from ALL SCHOOLS 

At JK Club we provide a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment where children can enjoy their holidays with friends while taking part in a wide range of activities.

Children can enjoy free play opportunities including:

• Construction toys

• Cars and dolls

• Fancy dress

• A cosy book corner

• Computer games

• Air hockey

• And much more

We also provide adult-led activities such as:

• Arts and crafts

• Cooking

• Games

• Themed activities

Many holiday clubs also include special themed days and seasonal activities, making each holiday club exciting and different.

​

Children will need to bring a packed lunch (please no nuts).

We provide:

• Breakfast for early arrivals

• A mid-morning fruit snack

• Afternoon tea

​

Drinks are available throughout the day.

​

Payments

We accept all childcare vouchers, including Tax-free childcare

​

Invoices are usually sent around two weeks before the holiday club, and we kindly ask that payments are made by bank transfer or childcare vouchers where possible.
